Hey guys!
This week's topic for help or advice is how to prepare for a major presentation project or research paper. Some instances include the junior/senior projects, class project, etc.
1. You will select or be given a specific topic.
2. Research as soon as you get the topic.
3. Use flash cards to write down the information you want, the website address/book name, page, paragraph number, and date you visited it.
4. Write and type out the outline and bibliography (these can be revised at anytime before you turn it in).
5. After getting a good chuck of information, begin writing the research paper (make sure to site your sources!).
6. Once you get the paper done, you can begin working on the presentation part with how you are going to display it (object, PowerPoint, and/or poster board) and say what you need.
7. Present your information.
Note: Some projects require you to get a mentor, interview someone, or even do a survey. If so, I suggest doing those early in the project, so I suggest that you get a mentor after you get your topic, plan the interview (and questions) with a person after you finish your research, and prepare your survey questions so you can get random input after the interview. Also, some projects don't require a research paper, but require the research and bibliography.
BE PREPARED FOR QUESTIONS AT THE END OF THE PROJECT!!
But I hope this helps out a bunch because I've done this plenty of times before.
Good Luck
~Amy
